The Department of Labour will continue to position itself as the vanguard to foster harmonious labour relations through the promotion of sound employment practices and resolution of labour disputes. Resources will be strategically utilised to provide a range of employment services to embrace the changes and needs in the labour market. Occupational health and safety management which will be approached in a holistic manner will commence with the promotion of a “Health and Safety Culture” for the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. The existing social partnership mechanism will be strengthened through consultation and participation of workers and employers in labour administration and inspection systems.
